Jay Hieron has recently resigned with the UFC and already has an opponent lined for him. Hieron will be taking over for an injured Josh Koscheck, to fight Jake Ellenberger at UFC 151. Reports have confirmed that he has verbally agreed to the bout expected to take place on September 1st, in Las Vegas.
Hieron has been away from the UFC for almost a decade, but has over 25 fights to his name, and has gone 11-1 in his past 12 fights. After just two fights in the UFC, he moved over to fight in the IFL for several years, as well as making his way to the top of the Bellator tournament at welterweight, before losing to champ Ben Askren in 2011.
