For those of you who did not hear, Anthony Perosh suffered a gruesome toe injury that is keeping him out of fighting at UFC on FX 6 in his home country of Australia. It didn’t take long for someone to fill in for him as Igor Pokrajac has agreed to fill in for Perosh in his light-heavyweight fight. In this bout he will be taking on none other than former heavyweight brawler Joey Beltran who returned earlier this year to the UFC at 205. UFC on FX 6 takes place on December 15th, and it acts as the finale for the second international edition of the Ultimate Fighter.
Igor Pokrajac had his three fight winning streak broken in his last fight against the returning Ultimate Fighter 8 runner up Vinny Magalhaes. In the three fights before the loss Pokrajac was able to finish two of those opponents. Also, he is not stranger to coming back after losses since he originally went 1-3 in his first four fights in the octagon, proving that he is dangerous when his back is to the wall.
Beltran has proven that he never gives up. Given he is 3-5 in his UFC career, he has only been finished once in those fights after taking on monsters like Stipe Miocic, Pat Barry, James Te-Huna, and Matt Mitrione. Beltran has always been known for taking a punch, and at the same time has never shown the ability to make it past a gatekeeper into the UFC. He needs to show up and excite in this fight to continue his employment in the octagon, but the question is which Beltran will show up that night.
