Former Bellator champion Hector Lombard was involved in a car accident on Thursday, as he was hit from behind.
Lombard posted a picture of the damage, and included the caption “my back hurts,” which could give the UFC cause for concern.
The 36-year-old lives in Florida and trains with American Top Team. He is coming off a second straight victory, having bested Jake Shields via decision this past March.
Lombard (34-4-1) has posted a 3-2 record since arriving in the UFC in 2012. Prior to that, he had won 20 straight and was unbeaten in 25 consecutive fights.
As for his next fight, UFC officials have yet to book Lombard. He has been pushing for a title fight, but champion Johny Hendricks is sidelined following surgery to repair a torn bicep. Many other 170-pound contenders have signed to square off.
Before entering MMA, Lombard was a member of the 2000 Cuban Olympic team in judo.
