Guess What Promotion Dana White Says Has “No Value”?

Dana White

While every fan and pundit agrees the UFC is the top dog in MMA, it’s hard to deny that Bellator has made some significant moves recently and has become a serious player in the sport. Sure, many of Bellator’s top fighters might not be household names, but we are talking about a promotion that’s on SPIKE, is owned by Viacom, and is televised in dozens of countries around the world.

In the past, of course, the UFC has helped eliminate the competition by just outright buying them. So would UFC boss man Dana White and ZUFFA ever consider going the same route with Bellator? While speaking to the media in Rio de Janeiro Sunday, White offered this comment (via MMA

“There’s nothing there,” White said. “If you look at any other company we ended up buying in the past, there was value. There’s no value to that company whatsoever.”

“If you look at Pride, look at all the contracts we got from Pride, all the guys that came over,” White noted. “Look at Pride’s library. Amazing library, with some of the most talented fighters of all times. When we bought (World Fighting Alliance), we bought it because Rampage had a contract with them. When we bought Strikeforce, we bought their library. Just the fights we had with Nick Diaz alone were worth buying that company.”

Wow. Zero value huh? At any rate, it’s interesting to see that White continues to field questions about Bellator. The good news for fans, of course, is that if you like as much MMA as possible you can just watch both…
