Forrest Griffin is aware of the talent that “Mr. Wonderful,” Phil Davis brings to the table. Being a stand-out collegiate wrestler, Forrest admits that he has to stay out of Davis’ top game, or he may fall victim as he did to Rashad Evans in his title loss.

“The thing about Phil Davis is I really don’t wanna get beat up by a guy in pink tights. He’s long, he’s quick, obviously a great shot, great wrestling, great anaconda choke. I have that to look forward to. What he does is a good job of beating you up from the top, frustrating you, until you come up into him kinda in bad form and that’s when he looks for that anaconda.”

“Mr. Wonderful” is a very unique nickname. I don’t know the origin story behind it. Maybe there’s a comic book that explains why he’s really powerful. I don’t know, I don’t want to judge him.”
