WSOF 5’s Arlovski: “MAK” Can Forget About KO

andrei arlovski

Although Andrei Arlovski can’t win a heavyweight title tonight at WSOF 5, if he still hopes to achieve that goal anytime soon, “The Pitbull” needs to score a victory over Mike Kyle.

Arlovski has turned things around since his well documented losing streak, which included three stoppage losses, but the former UFC champ is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Anthony Johnson at WSOF 2. While Kyle hasn’t had the same level of success as Arlovski during his lengthy career, “MAK” has demonstrated many times that he can end a fighter’s night with one shot or two.

So what does Arlovski think of Kyle? And the UFC vet’s stopping power? While speaking to Bloody recently, the 34 year-old vet relayed:

First of all, I like what I’m doing right now. I like training hard and most importantly I like to be able to fight. Mike Kyle should give up, because he will not knock me out.

He’s a good striker, he’s got a quick jab and a good right hand. I have to stay away from his right hand. I got this opportunity on a few weeks notice, but my training has been great. My main sparring partner was Jon Jones, and I trained a lot with him, it’s gone very well.

Oh, remember that flying knee Arlovski threw versus Fedor Emelianenko in 2009? Right before he was bombed out by the Russian heavyweight? Arlovski  relayed in the aforementioned report that it was a “stupid mistake” and cost him “a lot.”

WSOF 5 will take place at the Revel Resort and Casino tonight in Atlantic City. Stay tuned to Caged for all your coverage.
