A bantamweight title fight has been made official to take place Oct. 1 in Washington, D.C. at the Verizon Center between champ Dominick Cruz (18-1) and Demetrious Johnson (10-1). As the event title implies, the event will air free on the Versus network at its usual airing time.
Cruz will be entering the fight riding a nine-fight winstreak, recently defeating via decision his only loss against Urijah Faber in the headline at UFC 132 after a five round battle.
The fast paced 24 yr. old “Mighty Mo” Johnson will be looking to continue a four-fight winstreak. Recent victories include Miguel Torres and Norifum “Kid” Yamamato in the UFC.
