Rich Franklin out three months to undergo surgery

Following a withdraw from UFC 133 vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira due to injury, Rich ‘Ace’ Franklin will now require minor surgery to repair a torn labrum (shoulder) suffered during practice. The surgery is expected to require at least a two to three month layoff from mixed martial arts to heal.

“The timing of this shoulder injury is unfortunate considering my fight was pulled from the UFC 133 card said Franklin, but I know everything will go as planned and that I will recover quickly. The UFC is being supportive, and I hope my fans also will be understanding – I promise to get back in the Octagon and fight again as soon as possible.”

With the former math teacher out for the rest of the year, who would make a good comeback fight for Ace in 2012?
