Lyoto Machida KO’s legend Randy Couture with flying front kick

Lyoto Machida (17-2) returns to the winning column at UFC 129 with a victory over MMA legend and hall of famer Randy Couture(19-11). Machida looked reinvigorated with a more aggressive style following his loss to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 123 where he suffered a controversial decision. Here is the Machida – Couture play by play action.

Round One:
The two circle with neither engaging for the first 30 sec. Couture comes forward with a jab that skins Machida. Couture tagged by a right and backs. Couture attempts a takedown but Machida miles away. Couture lands a big left hook and backes. Couture gets caught with an uppercut in the clinch and cuts left. Machida follows up with a quick jab and backs. Both men patient not engaging besides Couture faking a takedown. Lyoto times a perfect takedown to the mid-section as the round ends.

Round Two:
Machida comes forward and lands a jab and  Couture goes for the takedown and Machida backs. Randy is KO’ed with a flying front leg kick to the face similar to Anderson Silvas recent KO of Belfort and that’s a wrap! Randy Couture is missing a front tooth now as he rises.
