Following a loss to Brendan Schaub this past Saturday, at UFC 121, heavyweight Gabriel Gonzaga has been served his walking papers from the UFC. This news coming right after the release of Patrick Cote.
Gonzaga released the news on his official twitter:
“Official now – Out of UFC – Thanks for all your support – back to normal life and BJJ forever.”
The 31-year old jiu-jitsu savvy heavyweight is best known for his KO of Mirko Cro Cop via head kick and his failed title shot against former heavyweight champ, Randy “The Natural” Couture at UFC 74. Gonzaga made his UFC debut in 2006 and went 7-5 in the UFC losing to new top contender Junior Dos Santos, Shane Carwin, Fabricio Werdum, and now Brendan Schaub before his release.
