Ellenberger gets early TKO of Shields at UFC Fight Night 25

Jake Ellenberger (25-5) continues his climb through the UFC welterweight division as he takes out former top contender, Jake Shields (26-6-1) early in the first.

It was a big  knee that dropped Shields as he shoots in, which started the beginning of the end. Ellenberger quickly swarmed the injured Shields to get the referee stoppage.

The official time of 0:53 of round one is given to Ellenberger.

Ellenberger now holds five straight victories in the UFC against top contenders Sean Pierson, Carlos Rocha, John Howard, Mike Pyle and now Jake Shields.
