Mark Hominick has just been given the green light from his boss for a featherweight title shot, should he get past his next opponent, George Roop at UFC Fight for the troops on Jan. 22. Hominick will enter the ring with four straight wins over top featherweights, including his recent victory over Leonard Garcia via split decision at WEC 50.
Hominick will not have an easy task against Roop, whom recently stopped Chan Sung Jung via knockout head kick in the second round at WEC 51 in Sept.
Should Hominick get past Roop, it has been reported that the title fight will go on the UFC 129 super fight card in Montreal which is headlined by Georges St-Pierre vs Jake Shields on Apr. 30.
