It was a long night for UFC heavyweight Shane Carwin at UFC 131 as he was out-classed in striking for three rounds, taking a beating at the hands of Junior dos Santos. Bloodied early in the first, Carwin gutted out another two rounds injured. Following the fight, Carwin’s manager Jason Genet verified Carwin had suffered deep facial lacerations and a broken nose causing him to be rushed to the hospital after the fight.
“Congrats to Junior and his camp. @ShaneCarwin will be back.
“3 deep cuts, broken nose and he will need to go to the emergency room for a CT scan.”
With a very convincing win against Shane Carwin, JDS will continue on to his title shot against Cain Velasquez as originally planned. The future of Carwin is unknown at this time but some media outlets have already suggested Roy Nelson next. Agreed?
