TUF vet Daron Cruickshank is heading to Brazil for his next scrap, as according to reports “The Detroit Superstar” will fight Adriano Martins at UFC Fight Night 32 on November 9th, which will go down in Goiania.
News of the lightweight fight was reported first by Portal do Vale Tudo.com, and was subsequently confirmed by MMA Junkie.com.
Cruickshank (13-3) will be looking to close out his 2013 campaign having won back-to-back bouts, as the noted striker is coming off a split decision win over rugged vet Yves Edwards at UFC on FOX 8 in June. Prior to the victory Cruickshank lost by UD to Tri Star’s John Makdessi in March, which followed his jaw dropping KO win over Henry Martinez at UFC on FOX 5 in December. The 28 year-old fighter has gone 3-1 now in the UFC after competing on the 15th Season of TUF.
Martins (24-6) will be making his Octagon debut on November 9th, after working his way to a UD win over Jorge Gurgel in January at Strikeforce’s final event. The 31 year-old Brazilian fighter has won five straight bouts since he was defeated by current UFC fighter Francisco Trinaldo back in 2011.
So with this lightweight scrap reportedly set UFC FN 32 now stands at 8 fights. In the headliner, middleweight contender Vitor Belfort will throw down with the legendary Dan Henderson, which will be contested at light-heavyweight. The event is expected to be broadcast on FOX Sports 1.
