It was an interesting fact to see WWE superstar, Brock Lesnar chatting it up with his former employer, Dana White last night at UFC 146. Lesnar, never one for public appearances outside of his obligated contractual work; he was the last person thought to be intently watching the all heavyweight main card. The appearance left the media and fans in astonishment, as press quickly questioned President White during the post-fight press conference about Lesnar’s possible return. A grinning White was all too coy on the rumored topic.
You never know with him. He might want to come back. He might just want to hang out. He was here. I think that says it all”
After some badgering from the media, White slowly leaked information.
He texted me and said, ‘I want to come to the fight, but keep it quiet because I don’t want to tell anybody,'” White said. “He said, ‘What are you doing tonight? I want to talk face to face.’
Rumors of recent disputes at his returned organization of WWE, followed by a show storyline in which Lesnar quit the WWE gives further credence too the likely return.
I still think Brock Lesnar is one of the top guys in the heavyweight division,” White said. “Is he in the top five? I don’t know. We’ll see.”
Whether the fact that Lesnar is playing two very conflicting careers would be an issue with the fans, White doesn’t think it a factor.
I think people get it now with Brock,” White said. “Brock is a huge WWE star and huge UFC star. He’s accomplished at both. … He went back to the WWE. There’s no secret. I think people get it. There’s nothing fake going on here. It’s real. They get it.”
