Well it’s been a long time coming for MMA, but it looks like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. UFC president Dana White has made the statement that MMA will be sanctioned sometime this year.
White talked recently with MMA Fight Corner on FOX Sports Radio, where he made the comment, “We’re so close, it’s going to happen, and I guarantee you it’s going to happen this year.” Things must be looking very promising, as Dana isn’t know for making such brash statements.
If all goes as planned, who will headline the main event of the UFC’s first show in Madison Sqaure Garden? Dana couldn’t make any promises, except that New Yorker Jon Jones would most likely be on the main card.
“It’s going to depend on what it happens, timing and everything else, but obviously, it would be nice to go in there with, probably, Jon Jones.”
