The show wouldn’t be the same without the hometown hero, Dan Hardy (24-10 MMA, 5-4 UFC). The former number one contender will face-off against “The Ultimate Fighter 7″ winner Amir Sadollah (6-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) at UFC on Fuel 5 in at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England on Sept. 29.
Currently headlining the card is Stefan Struve vs. Stipe Miocic.Though placement of Sadollah – Hardy is unannounced, the bout is expected to take place on the main card.
The Outlaw was last seen putting an end to a four-fight losing streak, when he defeated fellow brawler Duane “Bang” Ludwig at UFC 146 in May, picking up “Knockout of the Night” honors. Prior to this bout Hardy put on a “Fight of the Night” performance against Chris Lytle, bestowing Lytle with the rare victory retirement bout.
A split-decision win over Jorge Lopez at UFC on Fuel 3 in May was what we had witnessed last from the Brooklyn born, Sadollah. Now looking to go 5-1 in his career, the former amateur Muay Thai champ will have a grueling challenge in front of a booing English crowd.
