It’s strange that, for a person with absolutely no fights to his name, there is so much hullabaloo surrounding who ex-WWE star CM Punk will fight in his UFC debut. But that’s MMA for you, and anyway, it isn’t very often that we get a pro wrestler to chew on and spit out of the maw we call “real fighting”.
So who will Punk face in his Octagon- and MMA debut? Dana White embarked on a quest to find someone worthy, and through the UFC president’s reality show vehicle “Looking for a Fight”, he thinks he discovered someone at a regional show in Philadelphia, P.A.
His name is Mickey Gall. Gall won his pro debut at the event White sat in on, and with a wisdom far beyond his years, the rookie fighter took the opportunity to call out Punk.
Well, Gall has been signed to the UFC, and as per White on a recent appearance on “Off the Record”, if Gall beats a kickboxer named Mike Jackson at UFC 196, he gets to be Punk’s dance partner.
Hooray… I guess?
