Chael Sonnen has been granted use of Testosterone Replacement Therapy ahead of his rematch with Anderson Silva at UFC 148. Sonnen has been using TRT since 2008, but it only came to light when he failed his drug test at UFC 117, which was the first time he fought Anderson. He failed to provide the proper paperwork showing his need for the replacement therapy, and was rightfully suspended after that. Now, he is able to use the testosterone, but he will only be able to elevate to a normal level.
The question is does this change how people view the fight? There has been a lot of fighters that have come out on both sides of the issue on whether or not the use of TRT should be allowed. Most fighters and the UFC know the real critics are the fans. If Chael is able to wrestle the title away from Anderson, will he have won it in their eyes?
