Carano: ‘Can’t say I’m Retired, I’m still training’ (Video)

If you were looking for good news on your Monday morning, Gina Carano is more than happy oblige. The former Strikeforce champ and the first women to put female MMA on the map, may have moved on to bigger pastures, but she has not stopped loving the sport that led to her rise. The fighter turned actress is not willing to say she has retired. As the UFC moves the women to the headline of UFC 157, Carano may see a good reason to return to MMA.

Check out what she had to say to SBNation at the SuperBowl:

“I haven’t fought in three years and right now I’m focusing on films and bringing my physicality and emotions [to the screen], that’s what my focus is, so I think that if your focus is fighting, you’re a fighter and that’s not my focus right now. You can’t say that [I’m officially done]. I wake up every morning and surprise myself, I wake up to a new me. I still train, [as recently as] two weeks ago and it felt really good because I felt free to not feel like I’m training for anything but to just train and love it again.”
