The UFC wasted no time with this heavyweight title fight as UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertita confirmed with the LA Times (via twitter) that they do in fact plan to have Cain Velasquez (9-0) defend his title against Junior dos Santos (12-1) at UFC 138 on Nov. 19.
The venue is said to likely be at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA. This would mark the UFC’s first appearance in San Jose as it was the former headquarters of the newly purchased Strikeforce promotions.
The undefeated heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez will have home court advantage as he trains at the local San Jose, CA camp, American Kickboxing Academy for his title defense.
The Brazilian Junior “Cigano” dos Santos will look to continue a win streak of his own following an over all domination of former top contender Shane Carwin at UFC 131.
