Michael Bisping vs. Tim Boetsch announced for UFC 148

UFC 148 in Vegas continues to grow as the UFC follows up the Franklin vs. Le announcement with Michael Bisping (22-4) vs. Tim Boetsch (15-4). The event is scheduled to take place holiday weekend, July 7th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Though the UFC prefers to match-up winner versus winner, Bisping will be facing the rising star Tim Boetsch after losing a controversial decision to Chael Sonnen in a title contender match. Prior to the loss Bisping was riding high with four straight UFC victories.

Boetsch, once a light heavyweight champion of the now debunked 5150 Combat League has been thriving in success at middleweight as he’s taken out TUF season 3 winner Kendall Grove, Nick Ring, and recently Yushin Okami in a spectacular comeback TKO in the third at UFC 144 in February.

UFC 148 is expected to be headlined by TUF Live coaches Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber as they battle for the bantamweight title, finishing off a trilogy between the two.
