As we reported recently, Michael Bisping will be taking on Tim Boetsch at UFC 148 on July 7th in Las Vegas, NV. The choice fight came after a denial of former Strikeforce champ Cung Le and rising star Mark Munoz as opponent according to The Telegraph’s Garreth Davies.
“I have never really looked at Mark Munoz and thought he looked like a particularly dangerous opponent,” said Bisping.
“His ground and pound looks good, his wrestling doesn’t look all that dangerous, his stand up is suspect and he’s got a weak chin. I think Tim Boetsch is probably a harder fight.”
Le passed by the Manchester fighter would go on to be matched against another former champion in Rich Franklin. Munoz coming off recovery from elbow surgery is still in search of an opponent at this time. When asked if he had hopes of avenging the smashing knockout suffered at the hands of Dan Henderson in 2009 at UFC 100, Bisping had this to say
“I would 100 per cent be interested in a rematch. Made a lot of mistakes in the build-up to that fight and I have grown as a fighter.”.
