Bisping: ‘Chael’s taking title, then losing to me in five round rematch’

Speaking with U.K. media YourMMA, Michael ‘The Count’ Bisping shared his thoughts on how he sees his path to retaining the UFC middleweight title.

“I think Chael will out-wrestle Anderson and beat him this time, and then I’ll get the rematch with Chael considering how close our fight was. If I had Chael over five rounds, I’d definitely beat him. In that last fight, I’d have stopped him in the fourth for sure. He was spent after trying to submit me in that third round. Towards the end of that round I was raining down shots on him.”

Easier said than done. From the sound of it, Bisping is confident that five rounds would be enough to gain the victory over the grinder, Chael Sonnen. It was a controversial close fight the two had at UFC on Fox 2, that some contested in favor of Bisping, despite the unanimous decision given to Sonnen by the judges. Either way, a rematch will not be likely unless we see both men pull out similar results against their next opponent.
