The oddsmakers may be favoring slugger Anthony “Rumble” Johnson in his upcoming bout against Ryan Bader – slated for Saturday night’s UFC on FOX 18 in Newark, N.J. – but that doesn’t mean Rumble thinks Bader is a pushover. Quite the contrary.
“He’s right there with the best,” said Johnson at today’s open workouts and media scrum at the UFC Gym in Hoboken. “He’s fought the who’s who of mixed martial arts, except for Alexander and Daniel… He’s legit. He’s not an easy fight. You can’t take him for granted.”
Still, despite the kind words, it’s hard to envision a scenario where the wrestler Bader can emerge victorious if any amount of time is spent on the feet. Rumble is just too deadly with his punches and kicks.
