Former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem didn’t let Dana White’s remarks on “UFC Tonight” get the better of him.
Overeem, who was accused of “ducking” Junior dos Santos by the UFC president, stated on Twitter, “Not running (from) anyone, on holiday right now and also rehabbing injuries so not ready to discuss a fight at this time.”
Overeem defeated Frank Mir to likely save his job with the promotion after knockout losses at the hands of Antonio Silva and Travis Browne. His performance, though, was questioned by White after the fight.
On the television program, White said that two fights were offered to Overeem: a five-round main event in Brazil and a three-round co-main in Las Vegas; both vs. dos Santos.
Twitter going bananas! Not running for anyone, on holiday right now & also rehabbing injuries so not ready to discuss a fight at this time.
