The UFC called it a super fight, and it actually lived up to its hype. Jose Aldo (22-1) has continued his reign as he conquers the former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar (15-4-1) in the headline bout at UFC 156. It wasn’t without a brawl however, as Edgar put on his usual comeback performance in the fourth and fifth.
Round one and two showed the fast twitch power of champ Jose Aldo, dropping Edgar early with leg kicks. As the fight continued, Aldo seemed to slow as Edgar began to get the timing of his opponent down. In the end the judges seemed to be impressed with the amount of damage shown on the face of Edgar.
