UFC 155 continues to stack as the year-end fight card extravaganza receives another notable match-up. Middleweights Alan Belcher and Yushin Okami will once again clash, six years after their first meeting at UFC 62. The fight ended in Okami’s favor via unanimous decision, as Belcher would now like to erase the loss on Dec. 29 in Vegas.
Set to headline UFC 155 is another rematch, but with a large golden belt involved. Heavyweight Champ Junior dos Santos will look to defend his title against former champ Cain Velasquez. Expected to co-headline is a light heavyweight bout between Chael Sonnen and Forrest Griffin, and a middleweight contender bout between Chris Weidman and Tim Boetsch.
It’s been a roller-coaster of a career for fighter Alan Belcher with a majority of highs. It was a severe detached retina that kept ‘The Talent’ out of the Octagon for most of 2011. Regardless of injury, Belcher has been able to win his last four, citing a feeling of urgency now to complete his dream while he still can.
Japanese superstar Yushin Okami has gained much experience throughout his career, fighting the who’s who of middleweights such as Chael Sonnen, Rich Franklin, Anderson Silva – unfortunately he had not come out victorious in the big fights. Okami has shown improvement though, defeating a very tough Buddy Roberts recently at UFC 150 via TKO (punches).
