The stakes will be high when STRIKEFORCE closes out a spectacular 2009 with the return of one of the most prolific and exciting fighters in Mixed Martial Arts – unbeaten former STRIKEFORCE world middleweight champion Cung Le, who will face Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith in the main event of a star-studded lineup at HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA. on Saturday, Dec. 19, on SHOWTIME.

    A lot of Strikeforce detractors are wondering how they can create interesting cards, with a much smaller roster of big name fighters. Slowly, Coker and Co. have been acquiring exceptional talent – from crafty veterans to exciting newcomers (Aoki, Zarmoskis). If they continue to attract the type of talent they have been, I see nothing but a great future for Strikeforce. I’m still crossing my fingers for a possible Mousasi/Hendo matchup

    It will obviously be tough for them to draw the numbers of the November 7th card, but this is a fantastic followup showing and I for one am extremely excited.
