Carano added to upcoming female ‘Expendables’ cast
Gina Carano continues to earn work in Hollywood as she finishes up Fast and the Furious 6, and moves on to take on the upcoming ‘Expendables‘ (female version). No official title has been given to the movie, but it will be based of the recent Expendables 1 and 2 blockbusters. Rumored to also be in talks to join the line-up include Mila Jovovich of the Resident Evil series, Michelle Rodriguez, Sigorney Weaver, Vivica Fox , Angelina Jolie and more.
“I don’t know how I’m supposed to make a movie that is supposed to be the female version of ‘The Expendables’ without Gina Carano in it. It would be like making Twix without caramel or Jamba Juice without jamba,” said Shankar, whose shingle recently co-produced Joe Carnahan’s “The Grey,” Pete Travis’ “Dredd 3D,” Andrew Dominik’s upcoming Brad Pitt-starrer “Killing Them Softly” and the viral Internet hit “The Punisher: Dirty Laundry,” starring Thomas Jane.
It was only last November that Carano made the break into the silver-screen as she starred in director Steven Soderbergh’s “Haywire.” Besides Expendables, Carano is said to also be attached to a film called “In the Blood.” An action thriller by director John Stockwell, being described as the female version of Taken – ironically.

How could they make a “female version of the Expendables” without Cynthia “the Lady Dragon” Rothrock? She was undefeated for 5 years in Forms competitiona and starred in dozens of Chinese Martial Arts Action Films in the 80′s. The happened at a time women were not considered “action stars”. Cynthia knocked down all the Hollywoods doors for these other female action stars and should be in this movie. Fingers crossed for her….. Dragon

Cynthia Rothrock is the female Bruce Lee. She could kick Chuck Norris’s ass and it is a shame Hollywood didn’t promote her or give her better roles in her younger years…She has turned her body into a living weapon, has a mastery over a variety of weapons and can turn everything she gets her hands on – ropes, fans, purses, towels – into a weapon. Plus she can shoot guns. To top it off she is beautiful to boot. She MUST be in this movie!!!
