King of the Cage: Arrival Results

February 26th 2010 – San Manual Indian Casino. We covered King of the Cage Arrival live. Here are the results and notables of the nights event.

All undercard bouts were three, three minute rounds
All Main bouts were three five minute rounds.

Undercards

145 lb. bout
Aaron Arona (blue trunks) vs. Chris Wolf (black)
Aaron Arona wins impressively, seconds into the 1st round via arm bar.

Arona quickly comes out and gets the takedown, and goes right to mount while controlling the arm. From there it was only a matter of time for the Jiu-Jitsu ace.

170 lb.
David Gomez (white/army) vs. George Sanchez (black)
David Gomez wins by unanimous decision

A back and forth battle with both men landing bombs and finding sweeps until the end of 3rd round when Gomez gives Sanchez some brutal elbows to the ribs on the ground.

185 lb.
Ron Keslar (Black) vs. Jonathan Brandon (Orange)
Ron Keslar wins via Rear naked Choke in the 2nd Round.

Brandon comes out strong in the first, but seems to gas in the second, finally falling prey to Keslar‘s consistent rear naked choke attempts.

Main Card

145 lb.
Dave Rivas (Black) vs Martin Bautista (army green/ beige camo)

Round 1
Rivas lands two heavy punches sending Bautista to the Mat, yet Bautista recovers quickly from both.

Round 2
Bautista comes out strong, but loses opportunities in the scrambles.

Round 3
Bautista spends most of his time on his back being mounted or side mounted.

Rivas wins by unanimous Decision

145 lb
Musa Tolliver (White/graphic pattern) vs. Sasiprar Malaipet (Black Muay Thai shorts)

Round 1
Malaipet quickly comes out and drops Tolliver with his very first strike, a powerful low leg kick.

Tolliver takes down Malaipet.

Musa Tolliver ground-and-pounds Sasiprar Malaipet for the rest of the round.

Sasiprar Malaipet is bleeding from the forehead.

Round 2
Tolliver
again takes Malaipet down and continues the ground-and-pound, It’s obvious he wants no part of Malaipets’ vicious Muay Thai.

Round 3
Tolliver
ground-and-pounds Malaipet through most of the round, it is more than obvious Malaipet has no ground game and Tolliver is having no problems exploiting that the entire fight.

Musa Tolliver wins by unanimous decision.

170 lb.
Waachiim Spiritwolf (Blue) vs. Ismael Gonzalez (Black)

Spiritwolf comes out swinging, fight quickly goes to the ground, Spiritwolf gets control of Ismaels back, a few punches are thrown, then Spiritwolf lands a big hit to the back of the head. Referee Herb Dean stops the fight to take a point. Gonzalez seems to say he cannot see straight, and the fight is stopped.
Round 1 Technical Draw  4:00

135 lb.
Reuben Duran (Black/Pink) vs. Ryan Diaz (Black/Hitman fight trunks)

Round 1
Diaz lands a nicely timed kick to the face of Duran in the first round, rocking him.
Duran catches the next leg kick and takes Diaz down
Diaz works some ground-and-pound.

Round 2
Diaz gets a take down, and Reuban brings it back to the feet.
Reuben gets a takedown and lands some shots.

Round 3
Round three looks similar to round 2 until Duran KO’s Diaz with a flurry starting at the 10 second tap, to finish out the round and the fight in KO fashion.

160 lbs. Championship match
Bobby Green (White Black) vs. Rick Legere (White)

Green rejects Legere for touching gloves before the opening bell.

Round 1
Rick Legere bleeding from the nose after receiving a solid jab on his way up to his feet.

Green catches Legere with a straight, rocking him badly to the mat, from there Green quickly finishing with strikes from the top .

Bobby Green wins TKO first round, becoming the new King of the Cage (KOTC) champ.
