Last night’s Invicta FC 23 had plenty of action, but not a lot of finishes. In fact, the only finish of the night came courtesy of Roxanne Modafferi, who beat the leaving hell out of fellow veteran Sarah D’Alelio before getting the TKO.
Tiffany van Soest won, Andrea Lee won, and Angeiszka Neidzwiedz defeated Vanesso Porto in the main, but it Roxy’s victory stood out the most.
Despite getting dropped with the first right hand D’Alelio threw, Roxy blazed away with both guns, knocking D’Alelio down soon after, and putting her through the submission ringer on the ground. Armbar, omoplata, triangle choke, rear naked choke – Roxy threw everything she had at her, and D’Alelio managed to dodge it all. She could not, however, dodge the punches that knocked her down, so eventually D’Alelio found herself mounted and getting smashed with elbows.
That was enough for the ref, who ended things in the third round.
