UFC 192: Daniel Cormier Survives Epic Test From Alexander Gustafsson

Daniel Cormier

Daniel Cormier remains the UFC’s light-heavyweight champ after UFC 192, but Alexander Gustafsson almost prevented him from recording even one, title defense.

Gustafssson was able to take Cormier down a couple of times, and also dropped the latter with a thunderous knee. The 6’5 tall fighter also bloodied Cormier with jabs and hard right hands.

Cormier also bruised and battered Gustafsson with punches, however, and constantly pressured the challenger. It was likely because of this pressure, and his striking volume that Cormier was handed a split decision win.

“DC” proceeded to thank Gustafsson for making him a better man and fighter after the wildly entertaining bout.

In the co-headliner, Ryan Bader out struck Rashad Evan, landed a couple of key takedowns, and received a well deserved, UD victory.
