When the UFC picked over Invicta FC’s roster to stock it’s then-new bantamweight division, they left the veteran Tony Evinger behind, which enabled her to score the 135-pound belt and go undefeated in six fights in the Invicta cage.
Well, that streak and reign ended at Invicta FC 20, with Yana Kunitskaya using a no-nonsense armbar to get the job done.
The entire bout was essentially Evinger scoring a takedown, working from top position, and Kunitskaya throwing her legs over and cinching on an armbar. For a while Evinger counter, even going so far as to plant her foot against the challenger’s face to try to push away. But no, the submission was too tight, and Evinger soon had to tap.
All good things must eventually come to an end.
