Bernard Hopkins is the Randy Couture of boxing. Breaking his own record for oldest champ, he once again claims the Light Heavyweight title (175 pounds) with a win over formerly undefeated Tavoris Cloud.
It was only two years earlier that we saw Hopkins claim the title, destroying George Foreman’s record at the age of 46. It was a tough win over Jean Pascal, un-similar to last nights dominating victory over Cloud. Hopkins pulled off the unanimous decision sweep in the judges cards (116-112, 116-112, 117-111).
Hopkins landed 110 of 227 power punches, at a remarkable 48 percent, according to CompuBox statistics, leaving some to believe that the champ is somehow improving with age.
Looking forward to B-Hop’s next title defense, possibly in the summer.
