Floyd Mayweather, Jr was reported to have witnessed a murder/suicide involving one of his close friends early yesterday morning.
Aspiring rapper Earl Hayes, and his wife Stephanie Moseley, who was a star of a VH1 dance-themed reality series, were both found dead in their Los Angeles home yesterday.
Hayes is a longtime friend of Mayweather, who was once signed to the boxer’s record label, Philthy Rich Records.
Los Angeles police had been called to the home following reports of screaming and gunfire.
Sources in the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that Hayes “had conversations with” Mayweather just before his death.
Online sources describe Hayes as contacting Mayweather via FaceTime, reportedly in a rage about his spouse’s infidelity. Eventually Hayes reached for a firearm which he used on his wife, and then himself.
Moseley, a dancer, was a star on the VH1 series “Hit the Floor.” The network offered their condolences in a statement today.
The welterweight boxing champion is reportedly “in a state of shock” and “struggling to come to terms” with what he saw, per a report from British newspaper The Independent.
