Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. was reportedly arrested earlier today in Las Vegas, Nevada on charges of felony theft which related to a domestic violence complaint filed by his former girlfriend.
33 year-old Mayweather was booked on a grand larceny charge and was held for a $3,000 bail, reported LV police officer Bill Cassell.
Mayweather’s attorney, Richard Wright, reported that the boxer was being accused of stealing an iPhone from Josie Harris, ex-girlfriend and mother of his three kids. Wright stated: “He did not commit any grand larceny.”
Thursday, Harris filed a police complaint against Mayweather and sought a Family Court protection order as well. She accused Mayweather of twisting her arm and punching her in the head.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH DOMESTIC BATTERY CASE
Floyd Mayweather Jr. surrendered to authorities earlier this morning and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center at approximately 11:00 a.m. Mayweather is charged with one count of Grand Larceny.
The Grand Larceny charge is the outgrowth of an incident which occurred on September 9, 2010 in which Mayweather was accused of both that crime and the crime battery domestic violence. The additional charge of battery domestic violence has been recommended to the Clark County District Attorney’s office who will evaluate the evidence in this case to determine the appropriateness of that charge.
Mayweather will be eligible for release upon payment of $3000.00 bail, as required by state statute for this crime.
