There has been plenty of speculation recently that officials in Japan are working on putting Fedor Emelianenko and Wanderlei Silva together for a possible meeting now that “The Axe Murderer” is free of his UFC contract.
We might just be seeing the beginning stages of that happening under the Bellator umbrella.
Before Emelianenko agreed to a return with Rizin, he appeared at a handful of “Fan Fest” events alongside Bellator fighters. Well, Silva is going to do just that later this month, replacing Randy Couture at one planned ahead of Bellator 149.
Officials confirmed the news recently, as Silva joins light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary, No. 1 contender Phil Davis, former UFC champion Tito Ortiz and wrestling superstar Kurt Angle on February 18 in Houston at “Dave & Buster’s.”
