Former UFC champion Tito Ortiz was involved in an altercation at a Las Vegas nightclub Friday morning.
According to a report by MMAjunkie.com, the current Bellator fighter was cited for misdemeanor battery after attempting to take the phone of a female while she was filming.
A report from TMZ Sports stated that Ortiz “whipped (the female) around” at Drai’s nightclub, leaving her “scared for her life” once things got physical. Police were called to Cromwell Casino at 1:08 local time in the morning.
Ortiz is due in court within the next two-to-three months on the charge of misdemeanor battery, which carries a fine of $1,000 and up to six months in jail. Community service can also be handed down if the judge so decides.
The last time Ortiz (18-12-1) competed was in September when he lost to Bellator light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary.
