It used to be that if you popped hot for steroids, you were maybe suspended a year. Maybe. But not so in this new age of reformation and deterrence. It was revealed today by Sherdog that Bellator featherweight and bantamweight stud Mike Richman failed his post-fight drug test at Bellator 137 last month. The offending PED: the anabolic steroid drostanolone. The punishment as handed down by the California State Athletic Commission: a suspension of two years.
That is a long time for a fighter to have to sit on the sidelines. And though Richman could have conceivably contested the results, he owned up to it on his Facebook page.
Yeah, you can forgot about seeing Richman in action for a while.
