Bellator bantamweight champion Marcos Galvao took to social media Thursday to explain what happened and why he will not be competing Friday night at Bellator 150.
Galvao was expected to defend his title against former champion Eduardo Dantas in the main event on Spike TV, but as the fighter explained, he “got really sick (Wednesday) night and started to throw up.
“After meeting with Bellator we all decided that my health comes first and it was the right decision to get medical attention.”
Despite having history with Dantas, he apologized to his opponent, thanking him for being “a professional,” along with Bellator, his fans, sponsors, coaches, team and management.
The bout is expected to be rescheduled for the near future.
Unfortunately I'm not going to be defending my world title tomorrow night. Long story short I got really sick last night and started to throw up. After meeting with bellator we all decided that my health comes first and it was the right decision to get medical attention. Sorry first to Bellator , to my fans, my sponsors, my coaches , my team , my management and to eduardo dantas as a professional. I'm looking forward to this fight in the near future.
