Bellator signs top Olympic Judo fighter

Bellator has been quite busy lately rounding up some quality fighters, to me this is an up and coming promotion to really watch out for. Bellator has just acquired Ferrid Kheder (16-5 MMA), a 7th place finisher for Judo, in the 2000 Sydney Olympic games.

Kheder is ready to participate in the promotions up coming 12 week tournament which is scheduled to kick off on April 8th. However, Kheder is not coming into Bellator with just a black belt in Judo in his arsenal, he is also a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Kheder:
“I’m a judo guy through and through, but I’ve adapted my skills to MMA,” Kheder stated in the release. “I’ve worked hard on my ground game and my striking, and I believe I’m ready to take it to the next level.

“Bellator is a great promotion. … They respect their athletes and put on some great shows. I’m very excited for the opportunity.”
