Bellator’s Ninth Season gets underway tomorrow night in Uncasville, Connecticut, and the card will feature the promotion’s middleweight champ Alexander Shlemenko taking on Brett Cooper.
At the official weigh-ins this afternoon both men made weight for the scrap, as Shlemenko tipped the scales at 183.3 and Cooper came in at 184.8. The two fought once before in 2011, and Shlemenko worked his way to a UD win over “Fudoshin.” It’s also worth noting that the only man to defeat Shlemenko in his last 15 bouts is former champ and current UFC middleweight Hector Lombard.
Here are the official weigh-in results for Bellator 98, which will no longer feature Joe Warren and Andreas Spang, who were deemed ineligible to compete by the commission. Warren’s bantamweight tourney fight with Nick Kirk has been postponed, while Justin Torrey and Brennan Ward’s fight has been moved into the middleweight competition due to Spang’s withdrawal.
