Bellator 33 has now officially been updated, following a shoulder injury suffered by season two lightweight tourney winner, Pat Curran. The former UFC star and recent internet hero Roger Huerta (21-4-1 MMA, 1-1 BFC) will now step in to face the lightweight champ, Eddie Alvarez (20-2 MMA, 4-0 BFC).
Huerta became an online sensation recently following an altercation caught on tape of Huerta knocking out a man for hitting a woman.
Bellator 33 will take place Oct. 21 and is rumored to be in Alvarez’s hometown in Philadelphia.
This is shaping up to perhaps be the organizations hugest draw as their two biggest names face off in season three.
