To quote ol’ Billy Shakespeare, it’s “once more unto the breach”, as Bellator has rebooked Fedor Emelianenko versus Matt Mitrione as the co-main event for the Bellator PPV at Madison Square Garden.
If you’ll recall, this fight was already supposed to have happened, but Mitrione was felled by kidney stones the day of the match-up, and here we are.
Here’s MMAJunkie with the news:
The Bellator debut of MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko will still come against Matt Mitrione – and this time it’s set for a much bigger stage.
Emelianenko and Mitrione are slated to fight as the co-main event of Bellator 180, MMAjunkie confirmed with Bellator officials following an initial report from the nypost.com.
Bellator 180 takes place June 24 at Madison Square Garden in New York, and the main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on MMAjunkie, though the fight card hasn’t been finalized.
