Welcome to CagedInsider’s coverage of Bellator 175, an event that features some decent names – like Marcos Galvao and Sergei Kharitonov – and will culminate in the hefty (253 pounds!) Quinton Jackson rematching with the svelte (212 pounds) Muhammad Lawal, a.k.a., “King Mo”.
First up: the main card opener between Steve Kozola and Jake Roberts. Who? Don’t worry about it, this fight is worth noting because of how quick and violent it is.
Round 1 opens with Roberts keeping his hands high and thinking aggressive, but then he lunges forward and misses with a punch and Kozola ices him with a counter left hook. Roberts drops like a sack of potatoes, Kozola follows him and drops hammerfists, and when Roberts stumbles to his feet, Kozola just keeps battering him. The referee jumps in to prevent Roberts from literally dying.
