Well, it’s main event time, and that means Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock are finally having their rubber match after 80 years of the sport growing around them.
If age makes the human body more fragile, then these two are very cognizant of that notion and seem way too hesitant to engage. That leaves us with two old men circling each other, with Gracie throwing his awkward front kick and Shamrock doing absolutely nothing. Then, after a few minutes, they clinch, and the Brazilian legend throws two knees, with the second one nailing Shamrock in the head and sending him to the canvas, where Gracie pounds him to a TKO stoppage.
But a replay shows that the first knee got Shamrock in the groin, and he’s livid over the ending and the referee’s failure to halt the bout at the ground strike.
Result: Royce Gracie def.Ken Shamrock via TKO (Punches) at 2:22, R1
